Cuttack: Two minor sisters drowned in a pond at Banamalipur village in Nischintakoili block of the district today. The deceased were identified as Lipsita Panda (9) and her sister Ipsita Panda (5). The sister duo went missing while playing near their house.
Following a frantic search, it was known that the two minor girls drowned in a nearby pond. The bodies were retrieved from the water body and sent for autopsy. Local police have registered a case of unnatural death in this matter. A pall of gloom descended on the village following the tragedy.
