Bhubaneswar: Two more persons have reportedly been apprehended by police for their alleged involvement in the kidnapping and murder of cameraman Manas Swain.
Three persons including two contract killers allegedly engaged by Swain’s employer Sarmistha Rout had been arrested earlier while the latter still remains at large.
Rout, who runs a web channel and is based in Bhubaneswar, had reportedly taken such action as Manas was in possession of some objectionable videos.
Swain had allegedly been abducted from Bhadrak and murdered in Bhubaneswar. His family had initially filed a complaint with Ranapur Police in Nayagarh after he went missing on February 5.
Soon after his body was exhumed from Badhipatna village under Ranapur police limits, the family leveled allegations against Rout.
It is very likely that the objectionable videos which Swain had, involved Rout or ‘influential’ people. The videos were reportedly saved onto a memory card which was with the deceased cameraman, sources said.
