Two More People Succumb To Swine Flu In Odisha

Bhubaneswar: Swine Flu toll continues to rise in Odisha with 16 more people testing positive from the influenza and two of them dying on Wednesday.

The deceased have been identified as a 50-year-old male and a 29-year-old female, who died at CARE and AMRI Hospitals respectively in Bhubaneswar on Wednesday.

Out of the 47 samples that were tested out in different hospitals of the state on Wednesday, SCB Medical College, Cuttack reported five positive cases, which was the highest among all the hospitals in the state.

It was followed by SUM Hospital in Bhubaneswar, where three people tested positive for swine flu, while in VIMSAR, Burla, two were affected by the virus, while one sample each in AIIMS, CARE, Kar Clinic, SPARSH Hospital, AMRI and Prime Hospital have tested positive for the disease.

Till date 507 samples have been tested in the state, out of which 171 have tested positive with 11 losing their lives to the vector borne disease.

Pratap Jena, Health Minister, Odisha has promised to provide free swine flu medicines in both public and private hospitals.
