Bhubaneswar: Of the total 49 people who died in the building blaze in Kuwait on Wednesday 45 are Indians and two of them are Odias. The two Odias who died in the tragic incident have been identified as Mohammad Zahur of the Tigiria area in Cuttack district and Santosh Kumar Gouda of Ranajhalli village in Ganjam district of Odisha.
Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi has mourned the deaths of the two Odia workers in Kuwait.
The bodies of the Indians killed in the fire tragedy are likely to reach India on Friday. The Union government has made all arrangements for a thorough investigation and repatriation of the bodies.
All the bodies will be brought to the country by an Air Force special plane C-17. A help desk has been set up in Kuwait to provide information about the injured and the dead.
Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Kirti Vardhan Singh is currently in Kuwait and visited the hospital where the injured were being treated. Kerala Health Minister and Health Mission director is also scheduled to go to Kuwait on Friday as most of the victims are from Kerala.
It is worth mentioning here that the building caught fire while the residents were asleep and died even before they could get out.
