Bhubaneswar: Following incessant rainfall under the influence of the Deep Depression, two rivers are flowing above the danger mark in Odisha.
The water level of Jalaka river breached the danger level of 5.50 metres and was flowing at 6.22 metres at Mathani in Balasore district by 9.00 AM today.
Similarly, the water level of Baitarani river breached the danger level of 17.83 metres and was flowing at 17.84 metres at Akhuapada in Bhadrak district by 9.00 AM today.
As per the information received from the Central Water Commission, water level is rising at 14 places in Mahanadi, Devi, IB, Brahmani, Baitarani, Burhabalanga, Subarnarekha, Vansadhara, Rushikulya, and Jalaka rivers.
Meanwhile, several coastal villages and low-lying areas have been inundated in Balasore, Bhadrak, and Cuttack district.
