Cuttack: Dargha Bazaar police have arrested two notorious criminals while they were attempting a robbery in the Gouri Shankar Park area on Monday.
Police have seized a motorcycle, a country-made pistol, and four rounds of live ammunition from their possession, police said.
The accused have been identified as Suresh Gajendra, a resident of Balugaon and Ajit Kar, a resident of Balichandrapur, police stated.
Police informed that the two have over 30 cases against their names in various police stations of the State, while Ajit had been sentenced to jail for 10 years in a dacoity case.
According to Ajay Das, ACP Zone II, the accused persons who had come riding a Pulsar motorcycle at the backside of Gouri Shankar Park at around 4 PM on Monday had attempted to rob one Abdul Fayazuddin of his bike by pointing a pistol at his head.
However, as Abdul raised an alarm, locals overpowered the accused persons and informed the police.
Later the culprits were taken into custody by the police.
