Mayurbhanj: Two youths were killed in a road accident after a truck rammed against their scooter and dragged them for about 30 meters on the National Highway No 49 passing through Bangiriposhi in Odisha’s Mayurbhanj district on Tuesday night.
The deceased are two brothers and have been identified as Rabindra Behera and Atmananda Behera of Chandanpur village.
According to reports, the fatal accident occurred on Tuesday night when the two brothers were returning home on a scooter after downing shutters on their fish business.
Eyewitnesses said that the killer truck hit the two-wheeler and dragged it for about 30 meters killing the riders on the spot.
The locals nabbed the truck driver after the incident and handed him over to the police. Police have detained the driver and registered a case.
On being informed, police reached the spot and sent the bodies for autopsy.
