Balasore: In a tragic incident, two sisters drowned in a pond while taking a bath at Kharasahapur village under Soro police station in Balasore district on Wednesday.
Raja Lakshmi and Bhagya Lakshmi, daughters of Manas Behera, had gone to bathe in the nearby pond. While bathing, they slipped into deep water and drowned.
After a frantic search, family members rescued them from the pond and rushed them to Soro Hospital, where doctors declared them dead.
Soro Police seized the bodies for autopsy.
