Two Tourists Drown To Death In Sea At Puri

Puri: Two tourists from neighbouring West Bengal drowned to death while bathing in the sea here today.

Another tourist who had also drowned was rescued and is admitted to the district headquarters hospital in critical condition.

The mishap occurred while five tourists from the neighbouring state were bathing in the sea at sector no.13. Three of them were suddenly swept away by a huge tide. One of them was rescued by lifeguards present on the spot.

The other two were swept ashore after some time. They were rushed to the district headquarters hospital.

However, they were declared dead by the attending doctors at the hospital.

While the identities of the deceased have not been established, the one undergoing treatment at the district headquarters hospital has been identified as Sunil Sekhar.
