Two Tourists Swept Away In Sea At Puri, One Dead, Another Missing

Puri: In two separate incidents, two tourists were swept away in the tide in the sea here.

A youth died after getting drowned in the sea and another has gone missing after being swept away by the tide in the sea.

According to reports, a youth who was rescued after being swept away in the sea near Baliapanda lighthouse succumbed to his injuries while undergoing treatment at the district headquarters hospital here. The deceased has been identified as Anupam Mandal of West Bengal.

In a separate incident, another tourist Manju Bhattacharya of 24 Parganas in West Bengal was swept away by the tide in the sea near Pink House on Chakratirtha Road. Bhattacharya remains missing.

In yet another incident, four tourists from Kolkata in West Bengal were rescued by lifeguards when they were swept away by the tide Digabareni Khunti.
