Dhenkanal: Two women were killed and another was critically injured after the car they were travelling in lost control and hit a culvert at Khatuahata under Tumusingha police limits of Dhenkanal district on Sunday.
The deceased have been identified as Laxmi Nayak and Nirei Das, while the injured is Pushpanjali Behera, all residents of Balisahi village under Mathakargola panchayat in Kamakhyanagar block of the district.
Reportedly, all of them were returning to their home from Dhenkanal town when the driver lost control of the vehicle, hit a culvert and overturned by the side of the road.
On getting information, police reached the spot. While Laxmi died on the spot, the other two were rushed to Dhenkanal hospital by police, where Nirei breathed her last. Police have sent the dead bodies for post-mortem.
