Bhubaneswar: The University Grants Commission (UGC) today included Madhusudan Law University, Cuttack it in the list of Universities established as per section 2(f) of the UGC Act, 1956, informed Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan in a tweet.
The University will soon be able to receive central assistance under section 12(b) of the UGC Act, Pradhan added.
The Union Education Minister has stated in another tweet that the eight decade-old institution named after Utkal Gourab Madhubabu is one of the best law colleges in the region.
The Central government is committed to transform the higher education landscape as per the vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and in line with the National Education Policy, he added.
Pradhan has said that this will surely fulfil the hopes and aspirations of Law students of Odisha, apart from raising the standard of Law education in the State.
