Bhubaneswar: With chilly condition in the state getting harsher every passing day, 12 cities across Odisha were par 10 degree Centigrade with Angul having the lowest of 5. Additionally, the mild rainfall prediction for next two days is still on.
In a statement made by the Regional Meteorological Department, mild rainfall with thunderstorm has been predicted across the districts of Bargarh, Nuapada, Keonjhar, Sambalpur, Jharsuguda, Deogarh, and Sundargarh for tomorrow, i.e. on January 1. For January 2, the warning has been extended to all districts of North Odisha and Malkangiri, Koraput and adjoining districts of South Odisha.
A yellow warning of thunderstorm with lightning and hail is very likely to occur at one or two places of coastal, central and northern districts of Odisha on December 3 and 4, said the statement from Regional Meteorological Department.
Beating Sonepur’s chilling weather, today Angul became the coldest place in Odisha with a temperature of 5 degree Celsius. Other places where mercury dropped below 10 degree are Sonepur at 5.6, Daringbadi at 6, Keonjhar at 6.2, Phulbani at 6.5, Titlagarh at 8, Talcher at 8.6, Sambalpur at 8.6, Sundergarh at 9, Cuttack at 9, Balasore at 9.4 and Bhubaneswar at 9.8.
