Bhubaneswar: Leader of Opposition Naveen Patnaik welcomed the ceasefire announcement between India and Pakistan and praised the Indian Armed Forces for undertaking a tremendous job in neutralizing terror infrastructure.

“While welcoming the ceasefire announcement between India and Pakistan, I applaud India’s uncompromising stance against terrorism. The Indian Armed Forces have done an excellent job in dismantling terrorist hideouts and terror-supporting infrastructure. Congratulations to our Armed Forces,” Patnaik posted on ‘X’.

India and Pakistan have agreed to a ceasefire, effective 5 pm, bringing an end to four days of intense hostilities that drew global concern. According to Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri, the Director Generals of Military Operations (DGMOs) of both countries reached an understanding to cease all firing and military action on land, air, and sea. The ceasefire agreement was made after the Pakistan DGMO initiated a call for discussions, which led to the understanding being reached.
