Under Yellow Alert: Thunderstorms With Lightning Expected In 13 Districts Tomorrow

Bhubaneswar: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued orange and yellow warnings for several districts in Odisha, forecasting thunderstorms with lightning and gusty winds in the coming days.

For May 15, the regional weather office has issued an orange warning has been issued for Nabarangapur, Koraput, Malkangiri, Rayagada, Gajapati, and Ganjam districts, where thunderstorms with lightning and gusty winds reaching 50-60 kmph are likely to occur in the afternoon or evening hours.

Additionally, a yellow warning has been issued for Kalahandi, Nuapada, Balangir, Kandhamal, Nayagarh, Khurda, and Puri districts, where thunderstorms with lightning and gusty winds reaching 40-50 kmph are expected.

Furthermore, Sundargarh, Bargarh, Jharsuguda, Sambalpur, Mayurbhanj, and Keonjhar districts have also been placed under a yellow warning, with thunderstorms and gusty winds reaching 30-40 kmph predicted.

The IMD has issued a yellow warning for several districts in Odisha, forecasting thunderstorms with lightning and gusty winds on May 16. Districts are likely to face thunderstorms with gusty winds reaching 40-50 kmph, including Malkangiri, Koraput, Nabarangapur, Rayagada, Gajapati, Ganjam, and Mayurbhanj.

Other districts, including Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, Keonjhar, Angul, and Dhenkanal, are expected to experience thunderstorms with gusty winds reaching 30-40 kmph. Residents in these areas are advised to be aware of the changing weather conditions.

The weather office predicted thunderstorms with lightning and gusty winds in parts of Odisha on May 17. Specifically, Malkangiri, Koraput, and Rayagada districts are expected to experience thunderstorms with lightning and gusty surface winds reaching 30-50 kmph during the afternoon or evening hours at one or two places.

On May 18, some districts are expected to experience thunderstorms with gusty winds reaching 40-50 kmph. These districts include Malkangiri, Koraput, Rayagada, Gajapati, Ganjam, Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar and Sundargarh. The adverse weather conditions are likely to occur in the afternoon or evening hours at one or two places in each district.

Other districts, including Angul, Dhenkanal, Boudh, Nayagarh, Cuttack, Khurda, Puri, Kandhamal, Kalahandi, and Nabarangapur, are expected to experience thunderstorms with gusty winds reaching 30-40 kmph during the same time frame.

The IMD has issued a yellow warning for several Odisha districts, predicting thunderstorms with lightning and gusty winds on May 19.

While districts including Sundargarh, Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Malkangiri, and Koraput are expected to experience thunderstorms with gusty winds reaching 40-50 kmph, other districts such as Nabarangapur, Kalahandi, Rayagada, Gajapati, Angul, Dhenkanal, Jajpur, Balasore, and Bhadrak are expected to experience thunderstorms with gusty winds reaching 30-40 kmph.
