Unidentified Assailant Slits Throat, ‘Murders’ Bengali Man In Odisha’s Dhenkanal

**Dhenkanal:** Panic gripped the residents of Meena Bazar area, when a man was found allegedly murdered inside his house today afternoon with blood oozing out of his throat.

The deceased has been identified as Mantu Patra of West Bengal’s Medinipur area. He was living with his family in Dhenkanal’s Patnaik Sahi for the last 20 years and was employed as a gold ornament craftsman in the town.

The incident occurred at around 2 pm in the afternoon when Mantu’s son Surya heard a weird noise from the room in which his father was taking a nap. On being asked by his mother to check what happened, Surya went to his father’s room only to find out that his father’s throat had been slit and he had been murdered.

Mantu’s was rushed to the DHH in a critical condition but was declared ‘brought dead’ by the doctors.

Mantu’s wife, Aruna who has completely broken down after seeing her husband’s body informed the media that his husband had no bad blood with anyone.

Dhenkanal SP, Santosh Kumar Nayak said, “Our scientific team has reached the spot and we have started the investigation into the matter. The exact reason behind the incident is yet to be ascertained.”
