Bhubaneswar: The body of a minor girl was fished out from the Budhabalanga river at Ghodapal village under Kuliana police limits in Mayurbhanj district, on Saturday.
Though the identity of the deceased minor girl is yet to be ascertained, it is suspected that miscreants might have dumped her body in the river after killing her.
According to sources, villagers found the body of the minor girl floating in the river on Saturday morning and informed police.
On a tip-off, police reached the spot and recovered the body from the river before sending it for post-mortem.
Injury marks have been spotted in the minor girl’s body. Miscreants might have thrown the body in the river after killing her, police sources revealed.
