Bhubaneswar: A married couple was brutally killed in Ahopanka village under Mohana Adava police limits in Odisha’s Gajapati district on the suspicion of practicing black magic on Monday evening.
The victims have been identified as Kapilendra Malik and his wife Shashita Malik are from Ahopanka village.
According to reports, unidentified villagers shot at Kapilendra Malik in Ghodapanka village in the district on the suspicion that he practiced black magic to kill people. Following his treatment and recovery, Kapilendra and his family moved to Ahopanka village.
On Monday evening, unidentified miscreants attacked Kapilendra and his wife with deadly weapons. While Kapilendra died on the spot, his wife Shashita managed to escape the place but was later found dead on a hilltop.
On being informed about the incident, Adava police reached the village, seized the dead bodies, and started an investigation.
