Unidentified Youth’s Body Tied To Huge Stone Recovered From Bridge

Bhubaneswar: Police on Thursday recovered the body of an unidentified youth tied to a huge stone under Jamundhipa bridge under Brahmanitarang police limits in Rourkela.

It is suspected that the youth was dumped after being killed. However, the identity of the deceased youth is yet to be ascertained.

According to sources, locals spotted the body tied to a huge stone under the Jamundhipa bridge and informed police.

On a tip-off, police recovered the body and sent it for post-mortem.

Talking to the media, Rourkela Superintendent of Police (SP) said, “After we got to know that a youth lying dead near Sankha bridge, we rushed to the spot immediately. Besides, a dog squad was sent to the spot for further investigation. A scientific team has already begun its probe.  His body was sent for post-mortem. The exact reason behind the death can be ascertained after the post-mortem report comes. A team has also been formed to unravel the truth. Additional Superintendent of Police and Sub-divisional Police Officer (SDPO) will supervise the team.”
