Bhubaneswar: The CBSE has awarded full marks to students in Odia language paper of Term-I, in the 10th Board. The decision was taken by the Board on the basis of the report submitted by a committee which was set up on Monday.
Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan had personally intervened in the matter after several students and their wards raised complaints with the CBSE over discrepancies in the answer key of the Odia paper. Pradhan directed officials to ensure quick redressal of student grievances.
“The performance of students in Class X Term examinations was communicated to the respective schools through email by CBSE on March 11. CBSE also set up Dispute Rederrsal Mechanism on the same day. On a serious dispute being brought to the notice of Shiksha Mantri Dharmendra Pradhan on March 14 regarding the Answer Key of Odia Class-X,” the CBSE stated.
It was directed by the Shiksha Mantri that the dispute must be resolved within the next 24 hours and students’ grievances addressed immediately and appropriately. Accordingly, with a view to ascertaining the factual position, an expert committee was constituted by CBSE for examining the discrepancies mentioned in the representation.
“The Committee submitted its report at 6 pm on 14.03.2022 and based on the report of the expert committee, the CBSE has evaluated the OMRs of Odia Class-X with the correct answer key approved by the expert committee. The revised performance of students has been since sent to the concerned schools for onward information of the students. A total of 28,310 students have benefitted as a result of this revision,” the CBSE stated.
