Bhubaneswar: Union Tribal Affairs Minister and Sundargarh MP Jual Oram has written to Odisha’s Deputy Chief Minister and Tourism Minister Pravati Parida, urging to revamp eight tourist spots in Sundargarh district.
These spots include Baba Baneswar Mahadev Temple in Banai block, Singaradei in Lahunipara block, Ashok Jharan in Talabahali, Mirgi Lotani, Biseswar Mahadev temple of Baritolar, Deodhar, Kata in Kaleiposa panchayat and Badalgiri panchayat.
Oram emphasized that developing these naturally scenic areas would boost local economic growth and create job opportunities for residents.
In his letter, Oram mentioned that Sundargarh has over 13 tourist spots. However, only 3-4 of them have seen development in recent years. Despite having numerous attractions, the district has failed to draw tourists due to years of neglect by the tourism department.
The lack of development in these tourist spots has resulted in a decline in tourist numbers in Sundargarh. However, with the change in government, there is hope for a renewed focus on developing the district’s tourism infrastructure.
