Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Thursday approved a proposal to declare unseasonal rainfall as a State-Specific Disaster.
The decision, announced via the official handle of the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO Odisha) on X (formerly Twitter) aims to provide relief to farmers affected by irregular weather conditions.

With this move, farmers will now be eligible to receive assistance from the State Disaster Response Fund (SDRF) for losses incurred due to unseasonal rains. As per the guidelines, up to 10 percent of the SDRF’s annual allocation can be utilized for addressing such state-specific calamities.
