Bhubaneswar: For the upcoming urban polls in the State, an all party meeting was convened by the Khurda district administration at the Special Circuit House here on Thursday. The meeting aimed at inviting suggestions over the preliminary booth list.
Additional District Magistrate (ADM) Bhubaneswar, Prafulla Kumar Swain chaired the meeeting over locations of booths and ward wise booth distribution. As per the draft document shared at the meeting, there are 699 booths in 219 locations spread over 67 wards of the city.
Mostly the government and semi government buildings have been enlisted as booths. The final booth list will be published on February 14. Representatives of political parties have been asked to submit their suggestions in prescribed format by February 12. Additional Commissioner BMC, Binaya Kumar Dash and Deputy Commissioner BMC, Srimanta Mishra were facilitated the discussion.
On behalf of political parties, Madhu Sudan Yadav, State General Secretary, Bahujan Samaj Party, Harekrushna Khuntia, State Executive Member of BJP, Sura Jena, Secretary, Bhubaneswar, CPI, Shivananda Ray of Indian National Congress, Bikram Swain of Nationalist Congress Party and Sulata Deo, Spokesperson of BJD, attended the meeting.
“The draft list will be available on BMC website soon. Citizens can know about their booth details from the list. The last date for suggestions is February 12,” a BMC official said.
