Cuttack: To mark the 88th Foundation Day of Odisha, a parade was held at the 6th OSAP Battalion at OMP here on Saturday. It was on April 1 in 1936 when the Odisha Police was formed after Odisha (then Orissa) was carved out as a separate State.
DG Police Sunil Bansal was the chief guest on the occasion inspected the State-level parade and extended hearty wishes to the force. “I congratulate and extend hearty wishes to the personnel of our police force for their dedication and hard work,” the DGP said.
He appealed to the police force to dedicate themselves to the service of the citizens of Odisha and extended his heartfelt greetings to all on the occasion of Utkal Divas.
The programme ended with a prize distribution ceremony, during which senior police officials were felicitated.
