Bhubaneswar: Odisha Assembly Speaker Surama Padhy, Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, Deputy Chief Ministers KV Singh Deo and Pravati Parida along with the Cabinet colleagues paid homage to the first Chief Minister of Odisha Dr Harekrushna Mahatab on the occasion of the death anniversary on the state Assembly premises on Thursday.
Later, Majhi wrote on his X account, “On the occasion death anniversary of of Dr. Harekrushna Mahatab, the architect of the creation of modern Odisha, I paid tributes by laying a wreath at his statue in the Assembly building. The life and achievements of Utkal Keshari Dr. Harekrushna Mahatab are a significant chapter in the social, political and economic history of Odisha. Starting from India’s freedom struggle to the political and social uplift of Odisha, his contribution in every field was unparalleled.”
Deputy Chief Minister Singh Deo also took to his X handle and wrote, “On the death anniversary of Utkal Keshari Dr. Harekrushna Mahatab, I pay my solemn tribute to the visionary leader, historian, and statesman who laid the foundation for Odisha’s modern development. His tireless efforts for statehood, cultural preservation, and governance remain a beacon of inspiration for generations to come.”
