Bhubaneswar: It seems the arrest of Uzbekistan girl has unfolded the best kept secret of Capital City as the alleged high profile sex racket involving the foreign girl was used to run in a duplex owned by a mining businessman, police sources said.

The Uzbekistan national, who was found lying on road in an inebriated condition on Sunday night, used to stay in a house located in Kalarahanga area in Patia in city.

Police on Wednesday arrested Tapas Jana of West Bengal, caretaker of the building after a marathon interrogation who is suspected to be a pimp.

Two others, including a woman promoting the flesh trade here are still absconding, police said.

During interrogation, Tapas said he used to prepare meals in the building and hinted that the owner of the house has mining business.

Worth mentioning, mines owners, contractors and real estate developers have constructed many high rise buildings in the city and on its outskirts.

Since most of the owners stay outside, they put up their flats on rent to earn good money.

Police suspect Tapas used to seal the deal and provide girls to clients as per the demand as the WhatsApp chats in his mobile phone contained the price of each girl including the arrested Uzbekistan woman.

Police found photos of at least 70 girls, including some foreigners, in the three phones seized from the possession of the caretaker.

Police has got to know the name and address of other accused staying in the building to run the flesh trade.

“We have arrested and court forwarded one accused and hunt is on to nab the others involved in the immoral activity,” said Bhubaneswar DCP Satyabrata Bhoi.
