Vaccination Drive In Odisha May Get Disrupted Due To Shortage Of Doses

Bhubaneswar: The ongoing vaccination drive in Odisha may get disrupted if the Centre does not provide an adequate amount of Covishield doses, said Health Director Bijay Panigrahi on Tuesday.

At present, the state has a stock of around 3.47 lakh doses of Covishield vaccine which may get exhausted today. However, additional 3,49,130 doses of Covisheild will be arriving today afternoon.

The doses will be distributed across Odisha after their arrival, said Panigrahi while raising concern that they may last for a maximum of three days. The vaccination drive will be affected if more doses are not provided on time.

Meanwhile, Odisha has crossed the target of vaccinating 2 lakh persons daily with 11,56,797 people being vaccinated in the first five days of the targeted drive that started from April 1.
