Bhubaneswar: Union Minister for Railways, Information & Broadcasting, and Electronics & Information Technology Ashwini Vaishnaw will be on an official visit to Odisha on Saturday, to participate in a series of high-impact programmes in Bhubaneswar aimed at strengthening the state’s infrastructure and industrial ecosystem.
During his visit, the Minister, a Rajya Sabha Member from Odisha will attend the ground-breaking ceremony of SiCSem, a semiconductor fabrication unit coming up at Info Valley, Bhubaneswar. The project marks a major milestone in India’s push towards self-reliance in semiconductor manufacturing, aligning with the national visions of “Make in India” and “Digital India.”
Vaishnaw will also be present at the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the Ministry of Railways and the Government of Odisha at Lok Seva Bhawan, Bhubaneswar. The MoU seeks to enhance railway infrastructure and connectivity across the state, paving the way for improved transportation networks and economic growth.
Later in the day, the Minister will visit the Bhubaneswar Railway Station to review the ongoing redevelopment and modernization works being executed under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme, which aims to transform railway stations into world-class, passenger-friendly hubs.
