Bhubaneswar: In view of the ensuing Valentine’s Day amid the prevalent pandemic protocols and the anti-western culture brigades usually opposing the celebration nationwide as well as the lovebirds allegedly hounded and harassed, Twin City Commissionerate Police has tightened up its belt to ensure it pass off incident-free.
Responding to the media queries today, Bhubaneswar DCP Uma Shankar Dash said, “Same police arrangements like previous years will be in place this year too.”
“In a bid to ensure strict adherence to Covid guidelines and less number of gatherings, focus will be on checking such crowds on the Valentine’s Day. Special patrolling teams will also be on regular rounds on the day,” he stressed.
Notably, Valentine’s Day, even though celebrated on February 14 every year by the lovebirds, it has now been a week-long affair as Rose Day had been on Sunday (February 7) of the current month followed by Propose Day on Monday (February 8), Chocolate Day had been yesterday (February 9) while Teddy Day has been today (February 10), Promise Day slated for tomorrow (February 11) and Hug Day on coming Friday (February 12) prior to the D-day.
