Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Vigilance department has unearthed substantial assets in simultaneous searches conducted at seven locations linked to Asit Kumar Patra, Additional Block Development Officer (ABDO) of Dharmasala Block in Jajpur district.
The raids were carried out on allegations of Patra acquiring disproportionate assets (DA) beyond his known sources of income.
During the searches, the vigilance team found several properties, including three multi-storeyed buildings and one flat in Cuttack. One of the buildings, a four-storeyed structure, is located at Chorda near Kanheipur, Jajpur Road, and spans approximately 6,000 square feet. Another notable property is a newly constructed double-storeyed building at Jajpur Road, covering around 4,000 square feet.
Assets Unearthed During Searches:
- One four-storeyed building (approx. 6,000 sqft) at Jajpur Road
- One two-BHK flat (approx. 1,000 sqft) in Cuttack’s Metro Avenue Apartment
- One newly constructed double-storeyed building (approx. 4,000 sqft) at Jajpur Road
- One triple-storeyed building (approx. 2,000 sqft) at his native village
- One small shopping complex (approx. 300 sqft) at Jajpur Road
- Five high-value plots in Jajpur Road and Danagadi town
- Gold ornaments (approx. 200 grams)
- Cash: Rs 1,85,000
- Bank deposits: over Rs 65 lakhs (additional deposits being ascertained)
- Vehicles: Two two-wheelers
The investigation is ongoing, with the vigilance department’s technical wing assessing the valuation of the seized assets. The raids were conducted by a team of officials, and further updates are awaited as the investigation continues to unravel the extent of Patra’s alleged disproportionate assets.
