Bhubaneswar: Several areas of Odisha, including the twin cities of Bhubaneswar and Cuttack, are likely to receive heavy rainfall on Tuesday under the influence of the low pressure over south Jharkhand and neighbourhood, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Tuesday. The IMD also issued a yellow alert for some places in 16 districts of Odisha.
According to the weather office, light to moderate rain/thundershowers with lightning are likely in some areas of Angul, Keonjhar, Balasore, Dhenkanal, Cuttack, Jajpur, Jagatsinghpur, Kendrapada, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Bhadrak, Puri, Kalahandi, Khurda, Kandhamal and Mayurbhanj till 4.30 pm on Tuesday. People have been advised to keep a watch on the weather and accordingly move to safer places to protect themselves from lightning strikes.

Orange Warning (Be Prepared): Heavy to very heavy rainfall (7 to 20cm) is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Sundergarh, Deogarh, Angul, Keonjhar and Mayurbhanj.
Yellow Warning (Be updated): Heavy Rainfall (7 to 11cm) is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Balasore, Bhadrak, Kendrapada, Jajpur, Cuttack, Jagatsighpur, Jharsuguda, Sambalpur, Boudh and Dhenkanal.

Light to moderate rain/thundershower is very likely to occur at a few places over the districts of Odisha.
