Bhubaneswar: Vice President of India C.P. Radhakrishnan is scheduled to visit Odisha on January 23 to attend celebrations marking the birth anniversary of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose, also known as Parakram Diwas.
During his visit, the Vice President will pay homage at the Netaji Birthplace Museum located in Odia Bazaar, Cuttack. On the occasion, he will also inaugurate the District Culture Bhavan situated near the museum.
To ensure smooth and efficient conduct of the Vice President’s visit, a state-level preparatory meeting was held on Wednesday at the Lok Seva Bhavan conference hall. The meeting was chaired by Chief Secretary Anu Garg.
According to the official schedule, the Vice President will depart from New Delhi in a special Indian Air Force aircraft and arrive at Bhubaneswar airport at 8.50 am. From there, he will proceed by road to Cuttack, reaching the Netaji Birthplace Museum at 9.35 am, where he will participate in various commemorative programmes.
After completing the engagements in Cuttack, the Vice President will return to Bhubaneswar and have lunch at Lok Bhavan. He is scheduled to depart from Bhubaneswar airport at 2.00 pm for Kolkata.
The preparatory meeting was attended by Additional Chief Secretary of the Home, Mines, and Information & Public Relations Departments Hemant Sharma, Principal Secretary of Works Department Sanjay Kumar Singh, and senior officials from various concerned departments.
Director General of Police Y.B. Khurania, Commissioner of Police S. Devdutta Singh, and the District Collector of Cuttack also participated in the discussion through virtual mode.
