Baripada: Mayurbhanj Superintendent of Police B Gangadhar on Thursday put Assistant Sub Inspector (ASI) of Bisoi police station Abdul Matlabi Khan under suspension after a video of the latter taking a bribe from a person went viral on social media platforms.
The SP has also ordered an enquiry into the incident.
According to reports, about a month and a half back Khan had allegedly taken a bribe from a person in Bisoi police limits to cover up a case of theft.
A purported video clip of the incident went viral on social media platforms. In the purported video, ASI Khan is seen taking a heavy amount to exclude the names of five persons from the FIR. However, Khan has denied the allegation against him.
