Puri: Strict security measures at the Shree Jagannath Temple in Odisha’s Puri notwithstanding, a video of the interiors of the 12th-century shrine went viral on social media on Monday. However, what raises concern is that this is not the first time that such an incident has taken place inside Srimandir.
According to reports, a person, identified as Rohit Jaiswal, recorded the video during his visit to the shrine on the occasion of the Ratha Jatra festival and posted it on Instagram.
What has left people baffled is how he managed to take the device inside the temple premises. It is worth mentioning here that carrying electronic gadgets, including mobile phones, is prohibited inside the temple premises.
Despite the incident creating a flutter on social media and elsewhere, the temple administration is yet to comment on the security breach.
It may be noted that such incidents occurred in the past too. For instance, one Akash Choudhury, an ISKCON devotee, and YouTuber, posted a video of the temple’s sanctum sanctorum in November 2022. Apparently, the video was shot from the Jaya-Bijaya Dwara of Srimandir as it captured the idols of the deities on the Ratna Singhasana.
Earlier, one Sanjaya Padhi of Bhadrak took selfies inside the temple premises and posted the photos on his Facebook account on June 2022.
