Bhubaneswar: The State Vigilance on Tuesday apprehended the Assistant Director, Handicrafts of Jajpur Road while accepting a bribe Rs 20,000 on Tuesday.
The official, Pravat Mishra was reportedly sourcing the graft money through one Laxmipriya Maharana, Masters of Craftsman (Contractual), an employee of his office.
According to the Vigilance, the bribe was offered by a handicraft trainer for facilitation of his pending bills to the tune of Rs 76,500.
Cuttack Vigilance division has registered a case in this connection and initiated a probe. Searches are being carried out in Bhubaneswar, Cuttack, Sundergarh and Jajpur in this matter, the Vigilance said.
