Bhubaneswar: Odisha Vigilance officials on Saturday apprehended the Soil Conservation Overseer of Ulunda block in Subarnapur district Sudhanshu Sekhar Rana while accepting a bribe of Rs.11,000 from a person at Patabhadi Chowk in Sonepur.
According to an official press release, accused Rana was caught by the Vigilance sleuths while demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs 11,000 from a beneficiary (Complainant) for facilitating the release of the final bill for completion of work under “Excavation of Farm Pond” scheme.
The entire tainted bribe money has been recovered from the possession of accused Rana and seized.
Following the trap, simultaneous searches are underway at two locations of Rana from disproportionate assets (DA) angle.
The Vigilance has registered a case against Rana under section 7 of the PC (Amendment)Act, 2018. Further investigation into the matter is under progress.
