Vigilance Apprehends Sr Clerk Of Simulia CHC While Taking Bribe

Bhubaneswar: Odisha Vigilance officials on Monday apprehended a Senior Clerk of Simulia Community Health Centre (CHC) in Balasore district Manoj Kumar Bhanja while demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs 8000 from a Contractual Nursing Officer for processing a file for regularization of his service on completion of the contractual period.

The entire bribe money has been recovered from accused Bhanja and seized, an official press release of the Odisha Vigilance said.

Following the trap, simultaneous searches are underway at two locations of Bhanja from disproportionate assets (DA) angle.

A case has been registered at Balasore Vigilance police station in this connection under section 7 of the PC (Amendment) Act 2018.

Further investigation against the accused is underway.
