Vigilance Arrests 2 Associates Of Former Suliapada BDO For Misappropriating Govt Funds

Bhubaneswar: Odisha Vigilance arrested two associates of former Suliapada BDO for being party to misappropriation of government funds to the tune of Rs 11,979,788. The two associates have been identified as Dibyalochan Dash and Manoj Kumar Deo and they will be forwarded to the court today.

According to a release issued by Odisha Vigilance on Friday, Parikhita Jena, former BDO of Suliapada block in Mayurbhanj district was arrested on August 14. He has been accused of misappropriating government funds to the tune of Rs 11,979,788.

Jena had transferred Rs 10 lakh to Dibyalochan Dash vide his Axis Bank, Bhanjapur account, on March 3, 2022 and March 10, 2022. Besides, he had also transferred Rs 814,112 Manoj Kumar Deo vide his Indian Bank, Baripada branch account.

A case was registered in this connection at the Balasore Vigilance police station under Sections 13(2) r/w 13(1)(a) of the Prevention of Corruption (Amendment) Act, 2018.

It is worth mentioning here that Parikhita Jena along with his three close associates, Debadutta Das, former cashier, Suliapada block, Sujit Kumar Mohanty and Akhila Kumar Das, both private persons, was arrested on August 14.
