Bhubaneswar: The Assistant Executive Engineer of Jeypore Block and Municipal Engineer of Jeypore Municipality in Koraput, has been arrested by Vigilance for possessing disproportionate assets.
Searches conducted at the properties of Biswanath Patro revealed assets worth approximately Rs 1.55 crore, including two multi-storeyed buildings, 18 plots, deposits over Rs 1.01 crore, 854 grams of gold, and 1.8 kilograms of silver.
Patro was arrested as he was unable to provide a satisfactory explanation for these assets. He will be produced in court today, and a case has been registered against him at Koraput Vigilance PS.
