Bhubaneswar: Surendra Tanti, Assistant Revenue Inspector (ARI) and In-charge Revenue Inspector of Kumuli Circle under Boriguma Tehsil in Koraput district was arrested by Odisha Vigilance for possessing disproportionate assets.
The arrest comes after an investigation revealed that Tanti had accumulated wealth far exceeding his known sources of income.
The disproportionate assets include three multi-storeyed buildings, 17 plots, deposits worth over Rs 84 lakhs, 150 grams of gold, Rs 1.55 lakhs in cash, and three four-wheelers. Tanti failed to provide a satisfactory explanation for these assets, leading to his arrest.
A case has been registered against Tanti under Koraput Vigilance PS case No.31/2024, and the investigation is ongoing. Tanti will be produced in court today.
