Bhubaneswar: The State Vigilance on Monday arrested an Overseer on charges of bribery. According to the anti-corruption agency, the Overseer (Soil Conservation), Kishore Kumar Behera was apprehended while accepting a bribe amounting to Rs 22,000.
Behera, the Vigilance said, had demanded the money for processing muster roll of labourers engaged in the execution of farm ponds under MGNREGS Scheme. “The entire bribe money has been recovered from the exclusive possession of Behera and seized.’
Following trap, simultaneous searches are on at three locations of Behera over suspicion of disproportionate assets. In this connection, Balasore Vigilance has registered a case and investigating further.
