Bhubaneswar: Odisha will observe Vigilance Awareness Week 2025 from October 27 to November 2 on the theme “Vigilance: Our Shared Responsibility.” Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi will be the Chief Guest at the State-level function on October 28 at the Convention Centre, Lok Seva Bhawan, Bhubaneswar, where he will administer the Integrity Pledge to government employees and public sector officials. Chief Secretary Manoj Ahuja will be the Guest of Honour.
The programme will be live-streamed by the I&PR Department, allowing public servants and citizens across the State to participate. Simultaneously, the Electronics & IT Department will connect all Collectorate and Block offices through the OSWAN network, enabling government officials to take the Integrity Pledge administered by the Chief Minister.
During the function, awards will be presented to the Best Vigilance Division, Vigilance Unit, Male and Female Investigating Officers, and Public Prosecutors. Odisha Vigilance is coordinating the observance of the week statewide with a series of initiatives to promote integrity and raise awareness against corruption.
Competitions on debates, quizzes, cartoons, slogans, paintings, rangoli, and posters will be held for school and college students in each district. Winners will be recognised in district-level functions organised by respective Divisions and Units of Odisha Vigilance during the observance of Vigilance Awareness Week 2025.
Public meetings will also be organised in each district headquarters involving students, youth, academicians, government officials, Self Help Groups, NGOs, civil society, and media to educate people about the dangers of corruption and mobilise support for anti-corruption initiatives. Banners, posters, rallies, walkathons, and marathons will be held across the State, while Awareness Gram Sabhas in rural areas will involve SHGs and PRI members to promote community participation in the fight against corruption.
Odisha Vigilance will extensively use social media, WhatsApp, email, electronic, web, and print media to create anti-corruption awareness. Bulk SMS featuring the Vigilance toll-free number 1064 will be sent to millions of mobile users to encourage reporting of corruption. Online complaint registration on odishavigilance.gov.in will also be promoted further.
The Vigilance Awareness Week serves as a reminder that the fight against corruption is complex, multifaceted, and long-term, requiring coordinated action across administrative, political, social, and technological domains. Odisha Vigilance appeals to citizens to actively participate and contribute to building a corruption-free Odisha.
