Bhubaneswar: As the nation is observing the Vigilance Awareness Week from October 26 to November 1 this year, Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik urged the people of the State to join the anti-corruption campaign in a determined and dedicated way to help build a better society.
Patnaik stated that corruption is a major hurdle to development. It is a major obstacle to the success of various development and welfare programs. Corruption is also a violation of good governance, social solidarity, and individual dignity and rights.
“My government has taken a strong stance against corruption and has emphasized transparency and zero tolerance. Public education and awareness and community co-operation are essential for the success of the fight against corruption,” he added.
On this occasion, the Chief Minister congratulated the Odisha Vigilance for taking significant and exemplary action against corruption and hoped that they will work with greater commitment and commitment to the service of the people of Odisha.
He urged every public servant in the state to take full responsibility for the integrity and transparency in the conduct of his or her duties and to take firm action against corruption.
“I want the unwavering support, cooperation, and partnership of all sections of the society for the overall betterment of the people of the state with the formation of a corruption-free society,” added the Chief Minister.
Odisha Vigilance has also urged all to join hands in the fight against corruption in public life and to take the Integrity Pledge, as mentioned below, against Corruption today.
I believe that corruption has been one of the major obstacles to economic, political and social progress of our country. I believe that all stakeholders such as Government, citizens and private sector need to work together to eradicate corruption.
I realise that every citizen should be vigilant and commit to highest standards of honesty and integrity at all times and support the fight against corruption.
I, therefore, pledge :
- To follow probity and rule of law in all walks of life;
- To neither take nor offer bribe;
- To perform all tasks in an honest and transparent manner;
- To act in public interest;
- To lead by example exhibiting integrity in personal behavior;
- To report any incident of corruption to the appropriate agency.
