Bhubaneswar: Vigilance sleuths arrested an Assistant Engineer at the Roads and Buildings (R&B) Department, Division-III, Bhubaneswar, for accumulating disproportionate assets. A case has been registered against Raja Kishore Jena at the Vigilance Cell Police Station.
According to the investigation, searches conducted at various properties linked to Jena revealed unexplained wealth, including a multi-storeyed building in Niladri Vihar, Bhubaneswar, two flats in Cosmopolis, Bhubaneswar, two commercial outlets in Galleria and Symphony Mall, Bhubaneswar, and 13 high-value plots. Additionally, deposits of Rs 75 lakhs and Rs 67 lakhs spent on his children’s education were found, which Jena failed to account for satisfactorily.
Jena will be presented before the Court of Special Judge, Vigilance, Bhubaneswar. The vigilance team conducted simultaneous searches at 10 locations connected to Jena in Bhubaneswar and Nayagarh. The accused’s properties and financial transactions are under further scrutiny.
