Bhubaneswar: Vigilance sleuths today arrested a DVF (District Voluntary Force) Constable of Boudh district for possessing suspected ill-gotten cash in Boudh district.
The vigilance came to know from reliable sources regarding possession of ill-gotten cash. A team today intercepted accused constable Harish Chandra Sahu near Baghiapada under Boudh Town police limits and found Rs 6 Lakh (suspected ill-gotten cash) in his possession.
Sahu could not account for satisfactorily, the amount was recovered from him and seized, vigilance sources said.
Simultaneous searches are being carried out at three locations of Sahu from DA angle. He is being examined to ascertain the source of funds, vigilance added.
The anti-graft agency received inputs that Sahu, being a member of the DVF squad, was collecting bribes from Ganja dealers, cultivators and traders to facilitate their ganja trade.
Based on the inputs, vigilance kept a close watch on his activities and nabbed today.
