Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Vigilance department launched simultaneous searches at eight locations associated with Surendra Behera, Superintending Engineer (SE) of the Irrigation Division in Angul, today.
The searches were conducted on the basis of allegations that Behera had acquired disproportionate assets (DA) beyond his known sources of income.
A team of 3 Deputy Superintendents of Police (DSPs), 10 Inspectors, 4 Assistant Sub-Inspectors, and other supporting staff, armed with search warrants issued by the Special Vigilance Judge, Sundargarh, carried out the searches.
The locations being searched are:
- Triple-storeyed building in Sundargarh Town
- Double-storeyed building at Chhend in Rourkela, M/20, Gopabandhu Nagar
- Flat No. 403, Aurovila-1, Phase-3 at Ghatikia in Bhubaneswar
- Flat No. 402, Aurovila-1, Phase-3 at Ghatikia in Bhubaneswar
- Paternal house at village Ranjhali, PS Purusottampur in Ganjam
- House of his in-laws at village Aladigaon, Purusottampur, Beherasahi in Ganjam
- Residential government quarter at 3RA/1 Irrigation Colony in Angul
- Office room at Irrigation Division in Angul
