Rayagada: Vigilance sleuths today conducted simultaneous searches at the properties of a government school teacher in Rayagada for allegedly possessing disproportionate assets to his known sources of income.
Four teams of the anti-corruption wing led by 4 DSsP, 5 Inspectors and other staff conducted simultaneous searches in Rayagada district at the properties of Shisir Kumar Semeli, Teacher at the Office of the BEO, Rayagada.
The Vigilance said the raids were conducted on the strength of search warrants issued by the Special Judge, Vigilance, Koraput at Jeypore.
As per latest reports, Vigilance officials have unearthed Rs 2.88 lakh in cash, 2 triple-storeyed buildings, and 3 double-storeyed buildings at Doraguda, Rayagada, bank deposits of Rs 21.68 lakh, 2 four-wheelers, gold jewellery of approximately 408 gms and silver jewellery of approximately 229 gms.
The Vigilance said that searches are still underway.
