Bhubaneswar: Forest Wing of Odisha Vigilance today raided two illegal saw mills and seized timber and appliances worth Rs 8, 48,100 in Balasore.
Acting on a tip-off, regarding the running of two illegal saw mills at Darkoli village under Balasore Sadar police station Forest Wing of Odisha Vigilance conducted a joint raid, said official press release.
During the raid, it was found that the saw mills were running without any valid license.
During the raid, Vigilance seized saw mills’ appliances along with 157.27 Cft timber worth Rs 8, 48,100.
The Vigilance has registered two cases in Nilgiri Wildlife Range under Balasore Wildlife Forest Division in Balasore district.
Further investigation into the matter is underway.
