Bhubaneswar: The Vigilance has unearthed more gold from the possession of Rural Works Department’s Superintendent Engineer Ashish Kumar Das.
Yesterday search and inventory of the locker in Bank of Baroda, Niladri Vihar Branch, Bhubaneswar was carried out late evening. During the search, 899 gm of gold was recovered and seized. With this, the total gold recovery comes to more than 2.1 kg.
Earlier, vigilance had unearthed Rs 1.36 crore in cash during raids on the premises of Dash at different locations in Malkangiri and Cuttack. This happens to be the highest amount of cash recovered in the history of Odisha Vigilance.
So far, 12 bank accounts in the name of family members, relatives, and associates were detected. The total deposits in these accounts were Rs 2.25 crore. Total deposits in bank accounts, fixed deposits, savings, and insurance policies have been estimated at Rs 4 crore, the Vigilance stated.
