Bhubaneswar: Former Sub-Inspector of Police Keshab Chandra Dash, who was arrested earlier by vigilance in a graft case, has found himself in more trouble after the anti-corruption agency slapped another case against him for possessing disproportionate assets worth Rs 47,95,314.
Dash had been suspended from service when he was posted at Binjharpur Police Station.
Vigilance said, Dash was initially arrested on July 3 for accepting a bribe of Rs 5,000 from the son of a deceased person in exchange for a post-mortem report and other documents necessary for an insurance claim.
Following his release on bail in that case, he has now been taken into custody in connection with the disproportionate assets case and is being produced in court.
The Odisha Vigilance has registered case against Dash under sections 13(2) and 13(1)(b)/12 of the PC Act, as amended by the PC (Amendment) Act, 2018.
